Behavioral Health Unit - Inpatient

About this Service
Specialty Image The Behavioral Health Unit is a locked unit designed to assist families and patients through a crisis. We recognize that having to be hospitalized creates a very stressful situation for both patients and their families. Family members play important roles as support persons and advocates. With the patient's permission, we like to include family members in the patient's care.

Our goal is to provide rapid evaluation, appropriate treatment and coordination of community care in a safe environment.

The number of days spent in the hospital varies and is dependent on a number of factors:

  • the patient's ability to contract for safety
  • response to medications and/or other treatments
  • the patient's support system (either personal or professional) available
  • the patient's willingness to participate in an on-going treatment plan
