About Us

Mayo Health System is a family of clinics, hospitals and health care facilities serving 70 communities in Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin. Mayo Health System links the expertise of Mayo Clinic with health care providers in local communities to offer patients a full spectrum of health care options. Patients receive quality health care at their local clinic or hospital, and, when needed, can receive highly specialized care at Mayo Clinic.

Nearly 800 physicians and 13,000 allied health staff are employed by Mayo Health System organizations. More than 100 Mayo Clinic physicians from 25 specialties regularly see patients at the Mayo Health System. In addition to having health care facilities 70 communities, the system includes 17 owned hospitals, eight owned nursing homes and contract management agreements with two additional hospitals and one nursing home.

Since its inception in 1992, Mayo Health System has grown from a new idea to one of the most successful regional health care systems in America. Last year, Mayo Health System served more than a million patients. Mayo Health System is a national leader in quality and safety efforts and the winner of six Acclaim awards, presented by the American Medical Group Association, to the highest quality hospitals in the nation.
