Diabetes Self-Management Education
Immanuel St. Joseph's offers group classes and individual appointments for people with diabetes and their families. These programs provide information and support so participants are better able to manage diabetes.

Lactation Assistance
The nurses who care for you following your delivery are available to assist you with your breastfeeding needs while you are in the hospital. Nurses with specialized training in lactation are available to assist if feeding problems arise. Services are also available on an outpatient basis. (There may be a charge for this component). Lactation Assistance also has breast pumps and other supplies available to meet your needs. For additional information or assistance, please call 507-385-2967.

Pre-Surgery For Your Child
For children who will be experiencing surgery and their parents. This class covers admision procedures, what to bring to the hospital, introduction to hospital procedures, what to expect prior to and following surgery, managing pain and nausea, tour of the pediatric unit, family support and a question and answer session.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation
A group program with individualized goals for people with lung disease. (By physician referral)

Family Birth Center Pre-admission
If you are planning to deliver your baby at Immanuel St. Joseph's, you are invited to schedule an appointment with a registered nurse from our Family Birth Center. Designed for women and their partners who are 32 - 36 weeks into their pregnancy (or sooner for women expecting twins), this visit prepares you for your upcoming hospital stay. Plans for your baby's birth, initiation of admission forms and birth certificate, distribution of educational materials and a personal discussion of your unique needs and concerns are all a part of this session. This visit will allow us to individualize your care and make your hospitalization and the birth of your child a more satisfying experience. We will also provide a tour of our Family Birth Center to help you become more familiar with our facility.

Parent Pager Program
Parent pagers are available for Immanuel St. Joseph's maternity patients for a $10 rental fee. You may pick up your parent pager one month prior to your expected delivery date. Pagers must be returned 24 hours after your baby is born. To reserve your parent pager, call 507-385-2922 or 800-527-2922.
