Lake City Medical Center affiliated with Mayo Health System in 1997.  Mayo Health System, a part of Mayo Clinic is a network of clinics and hospitals throughout Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin.  The affiliation offers patients seamless access to one of the best specialty medical centers in the world.  However, although affiliated with Mayo Clinic, Lake City Medical Center, a non-profit, must remain financially self-sufficient.  All Mayo Health System medical centers rely on the community they serve to provide that support.   As a result, the Lake City Medical Center Development Office was established in 2004 to create relationships that connect donor passion with the vision of Lake City Medical Center.

The Development Office

The Development Office is responsible for securing gifts and estate commitments by matching visions common to both the benefactor and Lake City Medical Center.  Generous community support has allowed Lake City Medical Center to add the chapel, purchase state of the art equipment, award the Dr. Stephen E. Dudley Memorial Scholarship and create two rooms dedicated to Hospice and end of life care.

The Development Office is responsible for grant writing for Lake City Medical Center and when successful these dollars help LCMC to initiate new programs and increase patient and employee safety.  Specifically grant funding has assisted our facility in purchasing equipment, implementing Lean training, and acquiring a 15-passenger lift bus for the nursing home.  For additional grant information contact Krystal Ohlhaber at 651-345-6709.
