Proceeds from Golf Event Support Nursing Home Renovation Project

Lake City, Minn. – Thanks to generous community support, the 9th Annual Lake City Medical Center – Mayo Health System (LCMC) Golf Event raised $12,779 for the nursing home renovation project, Life Matters Here. The ultimate goal of the renovations is to increase quality of life for residents by creating a facility that supports person-centered care.

At the event, which took place on August 14, the winning team included Dr. Tom Witt, Glenn Hasse, Adam Witt and Luke Witt. The second place team included Dr. Jim Davig, Willie Wilson, Dr. Tom Blee and Nick Blee. Randy Sonnefeld, Joe Kjelland, Bob Habeger and Don Vanuer made up the third place team. 

Winners of the LCMC raffle were drawn as part of the social hour following the golf tournament. Lakeshore Agency was the lucky winner of the Traeger Grill donated by Huettl’s Meats. In addition, Anne Olson won a ski package from Welch Village, Sheri Sommer won a two-hour sailboat cruise compliments of the Lake City Yacht Club, and Laurie Bauer won a manicure and spa pedicure donated by Shear Wizards Salon. No one was lucky enough to win the “Hole in One” golf cart donated by Tom Heffernan Ford.

The event would not have been possible without the support of the community, sponsors, volunteers and The Jewel Golf Club.
