Since 1963, Naeve Health Care Foundation has been supporting Albert Lea Medical Center – part of Mayo Health System with an annual gift. The 2009 gift of $209,268 went toward the purchase of two analyzers for ALMC’s Laboratory.

Specifically for the microbiology department in the lab, the equipment, a GenXpert will detect MRSA, antibiotic-resistant bacteria which is difficult to treat, and a BacT/Alert, which allows for the early diagnosis of infection in critically ill-patients.

Annual Meeting 2007

The second annual meeting of Naeve Health Care Foundation was held on January 10, 2007 to thank the Friends of the Foundation for their loyal support through the charitable gifts they made during the previous year. The meeting gives donors an opportunity to review the performance of NHCF invested funds and hear how their gifts impacted patient care. It also provides the opportunity for them to visit personally with Albert Lea Medical Center’s CEO, Mark Ciota, M.D., and his management team.

This year’s speaker was Dave Pilot, ALMC Chief Financial Officer.

It was announced at the meeting that the Foundation received a $63,352.92 bequest from Laura Ditlevson, a grateful patient from Ellendale.  Pictured below are Ted Myers, M.D., Naeve Health Care Foundation president, presenting the check to Mark Ciota, M.D.
